Board Members

Red Brick Theatre is in the process of incorporating as a not-for-profit organization, in order to take advantage of funding opportunities and other benefits that come with being a not-for-profit, given that most arts organizations are not-for-profits.

We are looking for 3 to 5 individuals from the Hamilton area, or with extensive experience in comedy, events or theatre, to form our inaugural Board of Directors, who will work with the Founder and Producer on building the organization.

The plan is to form a Policy-Resource Board, as opposed to a Management Board, so there is no expectation of hands-on work or large time commitments.

The Board will essentially serve four functions:

1. Set overall policy, goals and mandate for the Organization.

2. Help with resource development (fundraising).

3. Ensure the Organization is adhering to its mandate and managing its resources well.

4. Provide advice to the Producer where needed.

Ideal candidates will come from the Hamilton area, or have experience in key areas, and have a strong interest in the mission and mandate of the Organization.

Key areas include:

  • Fundraising
  • Access to the business community
  • Legal, especially around entertainment and/or charities
  • Accounting, especially around entertainment and/or charities
  • Theatre and/or comedy
  • Event management
